The sign on the shed lists six things, and that is genuinely the whole job. Mechanical work and tyres are the two halves of the business, the parts counter sits alongside, and the rego checks are done on site rather than sent down the road.

A tyre workshop as much as a mechanical one. Maxxis and Starmaxx on the wall, fitting and balancing in the bay.
Tested, replaced and fitted while you wait. Flat battery in the car park counts as a booking here.
Scheduled servicing stamped to the manufacturer's log book, so a new car keeps its warranty.
Pink slips done on site. An Authorised Safety Check station for cars and light vehicles, LPG systems and motorcycles.
A parts counter next to the workshop, including mower blades, chainsaw chains and chainsaw bars.

Crawford Street, Bulahdelah. Two bays, a parts counter and the Authorised Safety Check sign on the wall.
Smith and Co Automotive is a family run mechanical and tyre workshop in Bulahdelah, trading since 2022. Kieran and the team work on everything that comes through the door, whether that is a local ute due for a service or a car that has limped off the Pacific Highway.
Bulahdelah sits between Newcastle and Taree, so a fair share of the work walks in unplanned. An alternator that has given up outside town. A flat battery in the car park. Those jobs get looked at, priced honestly, and turned around as quickly as the parts allow.
The workshop is authorised to carry out NSW safety checks across three classes, which is more than most small town workshops hold. If your rego is due, it can be done on site while the car is in.
A lot of these are written by people who were having a bad day on the highway when they found the place.
“I cannot thank the team at Smith & Co enough. My car broke down in Bulahdelah with a dead alternator, leaving me completely stranded. They took the vehicle in, sourced the replacement part, and swapped out the alternator incredibly quickly. Not only was the turnaround time impressive, but the quality of the work was top-notch. Thanks to their fast and professional service, I was able to make the long drive all the way back to Brisbane with absolutely zero issues.”

“We were road-tripping to Sydney when we suddenly ran into car trouble. It was late at night, dark, barely anyone around, and we genuinely thought our trip was over. Kieran took the time to carefully inspect our car and explain everything clearly. Thankfully, the situation wasn't as dire as we first thought. But what really stood out was this: when we were in a vulnerable position, Kieran chose honesty over advantage, and that speaks volumes about his integrity.”

Ring the workshop to book a service, a set of tyres or a rego check. If you are stuck somewhere nearby, call rather than email.
